Dr. Webster K. Cavenee was elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) at the November 2008 meeting of the AAAS Council.Dr. Cavenee is one of six UC San Diego faculty members to be elected AAAS Fellows in 2008. The new Fellows were recognized in a special ceremony at the 2009 AAAS Annual Meeting in Chicago in February.
Webster K. Cavenee, Ph.D., is Director of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and Professor in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at UC San Diego. He is a member of the Cancer Biology Program at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center.
In 2007, Dr. Cavenee was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies.
